People in Faisalabad are facing serious difficulties after the prices of medicines increased sharply. The rise in prices has affected patients and their families, especially those who regularly buy medicines for daily treatment. Medicines for eye care, blood pressure, diabetes, and maternity treatment have all become much more expensive in recent weeks.
According to reports, the price of Tobradex eye drops has increased sharply. Earlier, the drops were available for around Rs731, but now they are being sold for nearly Rs1500, while the price of Coupon Plus tablets has also gone up from Rs1250 rupees to Rs1500.
Moreover, On Call Plus strips, which are commonly used for medical testing, were previously sold for Rs1200, but now increased to Rs1400. Patients suffering from cholesterol and heart conditions are also affected, as the price of Ros Win tablets has risen from Rs350 to Rs460.
Medicines for diabetes and blood sugar control have also become costlier, as the price of Sita Met has increased from Rs574 to Rs641. Hemulin, which is important for diabetic patients and insulin users raised price from Rs1194 to Rs1318.
In addition, Neuromet SL tablets, used for nerve related problems and vitamin deficiencies, have become more expensive and the price has jumped from Rs1200 to Rs1450. Pemolate N, another commonly used medicine, has also increased from Rs418 to Rs460.
Many patients are struggling to manage their medical expenses because of these sudden and sharp rises. Families with low or fixed incomes are finding it difficult to continue treatment properly. Citizens have expressed concern over the increasing cost of healthcare and are demanding controlled medicine prices so that essential treatment remains affordable for everyone.
