In view of the rising temperatures over the next three months and the expected Eid al-Azha 2026 holidays, many reports have suggested that summer vacations in Punjab schools may begin earlier than usual, according to the reports on Thursday.

Summer vacation in Punjab 2026

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued a circular to the related departments about the weather conditions that can be expected in the coming months.

According to the PDMA report, Punjab is likely to face higher-than-normal temperatures during May, June, and July 2026. In addition, the province may also face above-normal rainfall in these months.

The report stated that the northern and northwestern parts of Punjab are expected to receive above-normal rainfall.

However, the eastern parts of the Punjab province may receive slightly below-normal rainfall. In addition to this, the central region of the Punjab province is likely to receive normal rainfall.

The PDMA also warned that all districts of Punjab may face heatwave conditions and high temperatures from May 7 to May 11.

The authority has also said that temperatures during May are expected to remain above normal across the province.

Following the weather warning and the expected Eid holidays, there are also discussions about the possibility of early summer vacations for schools in Punjab.

However, no official announcement has been made yet by the education department, and as of now, these are just speculations.
