The new facilitation has been introduced to obtain a marriage certificate in Punjab. According to the media report, the citizens can obtain a marriage certificate from 15- e Khidmat Markaz under the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB).
After this facilitation, the citizens can now register their marriage without any hurdle or any complex process.
The citizens can visit offices from 9 am to 5 pm to obtain a marriage certificate. Similarly, the citizens can visit https://ekhidmat.punjab.gov.pk/ for more information.
Earlier, NADRA introduced a way to obtain the marriage certificate from the union council. According to the details, it was important for every couple to register their marriage at the Union Council.
Documents required to register marriage
- Marriage certificate
- Copy of the identity cards of the bride and groom
- Copy of the identity cards of the parents of the married couple
- Copy of the identity cards of the witnesses to the marriage
Either the bride or groom can go to the union council to register the marriage and obtain a marriage certificate from NADRA, where staff will verify the documents.
If the required documents are correct, the staff will enter the marriage certificate in their system. After that, the staff will provide the applicant with a printout for proofreading. If all the details are in order, the applicant will sign the proofreading printout and return it to the staff.
After that, the staff of the union council will issue the marriage certificate. This facility is currently available in designated Chakwal, Nankana Sahib, Quetta and Karachi East through the NADRA Pak ID mobile app.
