According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) today, on May 8, five militants belonging to the Indian sponsored Fitna Al Khwarij were killed in two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
The ISPR said that an intelligence based operation was carried out by security forces in Tank District after reports about the presence of militants in the area.
Five Khwarij killed
During the operation, security forces engaged the militants and killed four of them after an intense exchange of fire, according to the statement.
“On reported presence of Khwarij, an intelligence based operation was conducted by Security Forces in Tank District. During conduct of the operation, own troops effectively engaged khwarij location and after intense exchange of fire, four khwarij, belonging to Indian-sponsored Fitna-al-Khwarij were sent to hell,” the statement read.


In another intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan District, one more militant was killed during a gun battle with security forces.
“Another intelligence based operation was conducted by Security forces in Dera Ismail Khan District. In ensuing fire exchange, one kharji was effectively neutralised,” the statement read.
According to the statement, weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed militants, who were allegedly involved in several terrorist activities in the area.
“Weapons and ammunition have also been recovered from killed Indian sponsored khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area,” it said further.
The ISPR said sanitisation operations are continuing to clear the area of any remaining militants. It added that the counterterrorism campaign under “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, will continue across the country.
“Sanitisation operation is being conducted to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area, as relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm e Istehkam” (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” the statement concluded.
