Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has announced party tickets for the upcoming Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly elections on the instructions of party leader Nawaz Sharif.
According to party sources, the party has finalised candidates for constituencies in Gilgit, Skardu, Hunza, Astore, Diamer, Ghizer and Kharmang.
In Gilgit district, the party awarded tickets to Shafiq-ud-Din, Hafeez-ur-Rehman and Muhammad Iqbal. In Skardu, the party nominated Muhammad Akbar Khan, Imtiaz Haider Khan and Ajmal Hussain.
The party also announced candidates for Hunza, Kharmang, Shigar, Astore and Diamer, while it postponed decisions for two constituencies each in Nagar and Ghanche.
Party sources said the leadership distributed tickets based on merit, party service and local consultation. They added that the party has prepared a complete strategy for the elections.
The candidates expressed confidence in winning the polls and promised to focus on development and public welfare in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Political activity in the region has increased after the announcement of party tickets.

Earlier, Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz said while speaking in a high-level meeting with Punjab officials that “I don’t take a salary, but I am here to take pressure. CM Maryam Nawaz urged officials and Punjab cabinet members to work hard.
She also said that she only sleeps for four to six hours daily. CM Maryam Nawaz also said if officials can’t work hard or are unable to handle pressure, then they need to choose another career.
