A grand ceremony held on Sunday at the Wagah Border to mark the completion of one year of Marka-e-Haq, where Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz visited the Martyrs’ Memorial.
Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Information Minister Azma Bukhari and other ministers also attended the ceremony.
Patriotic songs further lifted the spirit and energy of the crowd, creating a highly emotional and passionate atmosphere.
Citizens paid rich tribute to the armed forces on the historic occasion and remembered their sacrifices.
Participants at the ceremony praised the sacrifices of the martyrs and highlighted their courage and determination.
Similar ceremonies were also held across the country and among overseas Pakistanis to commemorate the anniversary, reaffirming their commitment to safeguarding the sovereignty and integrity of Pakistan.
CM Maryam Nawaz’s address at Marka-e-Haq ceremony
Addressing the ceremony, Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz praised the leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir and commended the armed forces for what she described as a decisive response during the conflict with India.
She said that the world now recognises Pakistan’s military and diplomatic strength, adding that effective diplomacy helped avert a wider global conflict.
She stressed that there would be no compromise on national security, stating that the nation stood united during the war.
The chief minister paid tribute to the martyrs and saluted their families, calling their sacrifices a source of national pride. She also congratulated the nation on completing one year of “Marka-e-Haq”, saying peace and security remain Pakistan’s core priorities.
