Ishaq Dar holds key call with Kuwait FM on regional stability

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a key telephone conversation with the Foreign Minister of Kuwait, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, to discuss the rapidly evolving situation in the Middle East, ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States, and efforts aimed at ensuring regional peace and stability.

According to diplomatic sources, both leaders emphasised the urgent need to de-escalate tensions and resolve regional issues through dialogue and diplomatic engagement.

During the conversation, the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister praised Pakistan’s diplomatic role in the Iran–US talks, saying Islamabad has consistently played a constructive and positive role in promoting peace and stability across the region.

He also praised the efforts of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar in advancing peace initiatives, adding that Pakistan’s balanced and moderate policy is considered vital for regional stability.

The two leaders also discussed the potential impact of any closure of the Strait of Hormuz on the global economy. It was agreed that any escalation in regional tensions would not only affect the Middle East but could also disrupt global trade, oil supplies, and the international economy.

During the conversation, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar reaffirmed the Pakistani government’s commitment to promoting peace and stability both regionally and globally.

He stated that Pakistan has always prioritised the peaceful resolution of disputes, dialogue, and diplomatic engagement, and that every possible effort will continue to be made to reduce tensions in the region in the future.
