The Sindh government has imposed a ban on the collection of sacrificial animal hides during Eid-ul-Azha without prior approval from the Commissioner or Deputy Commissioner, as part of strict security and regulatory measures announced ahead of the religious festival.
According to details, the Sindh government has issued a formal code of conduct regarding the collection of sacrificial skins during Eidul Azha.
The district administration and police have been directed to strictly enforce the orders and ensure compliance with NACTA’s SOPs.
According to the government’s announcement, the collection of hides without written permission from the Commissioner or the concerned Deputy Commissioner will be completely prohibited. Only registered welfare organisations, madrasas, and approved institutions will be allowed to collect skins.
The notification further stated that no organisation operating under a banned or fake name will be permitted to collect skins. Setting up camps in public places, displaying banners, placing flags on vehicles or buildings, and making loudspeaker announcements for skin collection will also be strictly prohibited.
The government has also made official permits mandatory for collective sacrifices, and responsible persons must carry these permits during the sacrifice process.
In addition, all arms licenses will remain suspended from 10th to 12th Zil-Hijjah to maintain law and order during Eid.
The Sindh Home Department warned that anyone involved in the forcible collection of skins or extortion will face strict action. Cases against violators will be registered immediately under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
