PPP’s Shazia Marri backs Bilawal Bhutto after viral presser clip

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MNA and spokesperson Shazia Atta Marri said while backing her interaction with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto that the single interaction between colleagues who worked for a long time together should not be judged alone.

The interaction between Shazia Marri and Bilawal Bhutto occurred during a press conference after the PPP’s parliamentary meeting at Parliament House in Islamabad.

During a press conference, a reporter asked a question regarding the return of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) to provinces and the federal government through a proposed 28th constitutional amendment. The reporter mentioned that it’s a suggestion by any federal minister, but didn’t mention his name.

After that, Bilawal tried to answer, but Shazia Marri interrupted, and the PPP Chairman said aggressively, “I am not asking you,” and said “Thank You” two times to make Shazia Marri silent.

However, the video of the entire conversation went viral on social media platforms. PPP MNA Shazia Marri wrote on X and backed Bilawal Bhutto Zardari by saying, “One interaction that made its way on social media, between people who have worked closely together for many years, cannot be viewed in isolation. PPP has always prioritised the collective good of the people, and nothing should take away from our joint mission of public service.”

Shazia Marri’s political journey

It is important to mention that Shazia Marri is a senior leader of PPP. She became a member of the Sindh Assembly in 2002, and at that time, she was a part of the PPP. After 2002, she remained a part of the Sindh Assembly and the National Assembly.
