A total of 164,788 Pakistanis have been deported from Gulf countries over the past five years, according to details submitted by the Interior Ministry to the National Assembly.
Official documents revealed that Saudi Arabia accounted for the highest number of deportations, with 108,029 Pakistanis sent back during the period.
Similarly, 40,497 Pakistanis were deported from the United Arab Emirates, 9,814 from Oman, 2,971 from Qatar, 2,779 from Bahrain and 698 from Kuwait.
In another official document presented to the National Assembly, it was revealed that 9,233 complaints involving Pakistani workers were received from seven Gulf countries over the past three years.
According to the document, Saudi Arabia recorded the highest number of complaints, with 5,321 cases involving Pakistani workers. The United Arab Emirates ranked second, with 1,310 complaints.
Additionally, 677 complaints were received from Qatar, 404 from Oman, 539 from Kuwait, 850 from Bahrain, 132 from Iraq.
Rana Sanaullah urges opposition to engage dialogue process
Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political and Public Affairs Rana Sanaullah has once again urged the opposition to engage in dialogue to address political and national issues.
Speaking in the National Assembly, he said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has repeatedly invited the opposition to hold talks on the economy and political stability from the floor of the House.
Commenting on cases related to the May 9 riots, Rana Sanaullah said attacks on state institutions are being handled strictly in accordance with the Constitution and the law. He added that only the courts have the authority to grant relief in criminal cases, while Parliament cannot overturn judicial decisions.
He further stated that the PTI founder and his wife are being provided all medical and other facilities in line with jail regulations.
Meanwhile, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar informed the House that concerns regarding the prison conditions of the PTI founder had already been reviewed by judicial and legal forums, including reports submitted before courts and international parliamentary bodies. The National Assembly session was later adjourned until 11:00 am on Wednesday.
