Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has spent his third straight day in Tehran as efforts continue to revive stalled Iran-US peace talks.
Naqvi is actively engaging with Iranian officials and playing a role in supporting the restoration of dialogue between Tehran and Washington, Dunya News reported on Monday. During his visit, he has held a series of meetings with senior leadership and is expected to meet more top officials in the coming days.
So far, Naqvi has met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni.
Earlier, President Pezeshkian appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in helping secure a ceasefire in the conflict that escalated on February 28.
According to Iran’s state news agency, Pezeshkian also praised the diplomatic efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, saying Pakistan has played a constructive role in promoting peace in the region.
He expressed hope that Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement will contribute to lasting stability in the region. He said Iran wants strong and sincere relations with Islamic countries and stressed that unity among Muslim nations can help reduce external interference.
Pezeshkian added that closer coordination between Islamic countries can build the foundation for long-term peace and regional stability.
