Pakistani mountaineer Salman Attique brought glory to the country by summitting the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest.
Salam Attique is now one of those Pakistani mountaineers who waved the Pakistani flag at the top of Everest. Several Pakistanis, after his success, congratulated him online.
Salman Attique reached the summit of Mount Everest on Thursday at around 11:40 a.m. local time. Upon reaching the peak of the 8,848-meter-high mountain, he hoisted the national flag, making the entire nation proud.
A record 274 climbers successfully summited Mount Everest together, the world’s highest peak.
Due to the closure of the Chinese route, all climbers reached the summit via the Nepalese route. Nepal has also announced stricter regulations and an increase in fees for climbing Everest. Previously, in 2019, 223 climbers had reached the summit in a single day.
Out of the 464 permits issued by the Nepal government this year, Salman Atiq was the only Pakistani.

The team is now expected to make its descent back to base camp.
