Pakistan dominates early stages of Asian Junior Squash Championship

The 33rd Asian Junior Individual Squash Championship, currently underway in Panzhihua, China, witnessed a strong showing from Pakistan as seven national players stormed into the quarterfinals, significantly boosting the country’s medal hopes.

In the Boys U-19 category, Pakistan’s second seed, Abdullah Nawaz, delivered an impressive performance to secure his place in the last eight. Nawaz defeated Kahi Li in straight games, 3-0, during the third-round clash that lasted just 29 minutes.

In the Boys U-17 event, Noman Khan beat Chen Han Lu in 38 minutes, while Muhammad Umair Arif defeated Rehan Muhammad 3-0 in just 25 minutes to book his place in the quarterfinals.

In the Boys U-15 category, top seed Ahmed Ryan Khalil cruised past Nok Pei in only 16 minutes, while Sohail Adnan secured a 3-0 victory over Dhara Johri after a hard-fought 31-minute contest without dropping a game.

In the Boys U-13 event, Muhammad Mustafa Khan dropped one game before overcoming Haroon 3-1 in a 33-minute match to advance to the quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, the Girls U-15 third-round clash featured an exciting encounter between fourth seed Mahnoor Ali and her sister, eighth seed Saharsh Ali. Mahnoor Ali eventually emerged victorious with a 3-2 win after a thrilling 43-minute battle, securing her place in the quarterfinals.
