Netflix has officially confirmed that popular romantic comedy-drama Emily in Paris will conclude with its upcoming sixth season, bringing Emily Cooper’s journey in Paris to an end.

Production for the final season has already started in Greece, with series star Lily Collins and creator Darren Star sharing behind-the-scenes moments from the set to mark the beginning of filming.

The new season is expected to continue directly from the dramatic ending of Season 5, where Gabriel, played by Lucas Bravo, invited Emily to Greece after sending her a postcard.

The storyline has sparked speculation among fans that Emily and Gabriel could finally reunite in the series finale after years of ups and downs in their relationship.

In a statement, Darren Star described the experience of making the show as “the trip of a lifetime” and thanked fans for supporting the series since its debut.

He also expressed gratitude to Netflix, Paramount and viewers worldwide for embracing the show and its Paris-inspired storytelling.

Lily Collins also shared an emotional video message for fans, saying the final season would include “everything you love about the show” while giving Emily “the adventure of a lifetime.”

Since premiering in 2020, Emily in Paris has become one of Netflix’s most successful global series.

The show spent 32 weeks in Netflix’s Global Top 10 rankings and reached the number one spot in 90 countries. Beyond streaming success, the series also became a major pop culture phenomenon, influencing fashion trends, internet memes and tourism in Paris.
