A passenger train was targeted in a vehicle borne suicide attack near Quetta on May 24, 2026, resulting in a massive explosion that caused parts of the train to derail and catch fire.
According to security sources, the attack was carried out by Fitna Al Hindustan (FAH). Officials said the explosion endangered the lives of dozens of civilians, including women, children, and elderly passengers travelling on the train.
Authorities stated that the blast caused panic in the area as flames erupted from damaged train compartments following the explosion.
Security officials said the attack came after Fitna Al Hindustan groups had recently suffered major losses during operations conducted by Pakistan Army and other security forces in different parts of Balochistan.
Law enforcement agencies and rescue teams quickly reached the site, cordoned off the area, and launched rescue and clearance operations. Efforts are currently underway to evacuate passengers and provide medical treatment to the injured.
Officials strongly condemned the attack, describing it as an assault on innocent civilians and an attempt to spread fear and instability in the region.
Authorities reiterated that such attacks would not weaken the resolve of the people of Pakistan or the people of Balochistan in the fight against terrorism and violence.
