A much-welcome news for students of Balochistan as the Balochistan Education Department has officially announced a five-day holiday for Eid-al-Azha.

The decision has been officially announced in a notification from the department, confirming a new holiday period for government and private schools.

The notification read that all schools in Balochistan will be closed for five days, for the celebrations of Eid-ul-Azha.

The holidays will start on May 25 and end on May 29 on Friday. The educational institutions will start academic sessions on Monday June 1st, after the Eid holidays.

At the same time, other provinces have also concluded their Eid al-Adha holiday plans. The Punjab government has given the three days’ holiday, which will be observed from 26-28 May.

This shorter holiday period will be in effect for all public and private institutions in the province.

The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued four day holidays from 26th May till 29th May in the Province.

Likewise, the Sindh government has also decided to observe four days holiday for Eid al-Adha on the same dates.

This has led to a difference in the length of Eid holidays for the country as Punjab, federal government have given three-day holidays whereas Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has given four-day holidays.

However, Balochistan has provided the maximum of five days holiday for students and teachers.

The federal government had earlier finalised the holiday schedule to facilitate citizens working away from their hometowns, allowing them sufficient time to travel and celebrate Eid al-Adha with their families.
