In an official meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was welcomed with a guard of honour and was accompanied by high-ranking federal ministers and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir during his meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang.
The Pakistani delegation was warmly welcomed by the Chinese premier, highlighting the importance of the visit.

In the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasised the importance of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for establishing contacts with leadership in Iran, the United States and the Gulf Countries.
He said the Field Marshal had just come back from Tehran and, despite the tight schedule setting and night flights, was determined to be present to take part in the critical discussions.Recently PM Shehbaz Sharif stated that Pakistan and China will keep collaborating towards region’s development and growth in the future years.
Speaking at the Pakistan-China Business-to-Business Forum in Hangzhou, to mark 75 years of the bilateral friendship, PM Shehbaz said that the relationship between the two countries is “deeper than the ocean, higher than the Himalayas, and now reaching the skies.”
He praised Chinese President Xi Jinping for making China a key power in the world economy and military, and said that Hangzhou is the embodiment of Xi’s vision and leadership.
The prime minister announced that almost 30 per cent of memorandum of understanding (MoUs) inked between Pakistan and China have already been converted into bilateral agreements to the tune of billions of dollars.
He announced that Pakistan is training its youth in the field of information technology and giving them international certifications in agriculture.
Information technology, special economic zones and mines and minerals are the four areas of cooperation between the two nations.
He urged the two sides to expedite the process of turning the MoUs into concrete projects and encouraged other investors from abroad to invest in Pakistan’s wide mineral resources as well as other investment opportunities.
He said that instead of loan, Pakistan requires investment and expert guidance; modern seeds, modern machines and improved farming techniques are a must for augmenting the agricultural productivity in Pakistan.
