Field Marshal Asim Munir Meets Chinese Premier Li Qiang

Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, held an informal meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang during a prestigious reception at the Great Hall of the People.

Both leaders exchanged warm greetings and held a brief discussion, reflecting the continued strength of Pakistan-China strategic relations. Field Marshal Asim Munir is currently in China as part of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s official visit.

Meanwhile, Pakistan and China have agreed to strengthen coordination, expedite the implementation of key projects, and advance their bilateral partnership into a new era of practical, results-driven, high-quality cooperation.

The understanding was reached during a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese Premier Li Qiang in Beijing. The meeting coincided with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

During the talks, both leaders reviewed the full scope of Pakistan-China relations and expressed satisfaction over the continued progress in cooperation across political, economic, strategic, security, and people-to-people sectors.

They reaffirmed mutual support on issues concerning each other’s core interests.

The two sides also acknowledged the transformative impact of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) on Pakistan’s socio-economic development and expressed their commitment to advancing the next phase of the project.
