Authorities have finalised plans for a large-scale anti-encroachment operation in Islamabad, with multiple law enforcement and civic agencies set to participate in the crackdown, sources said.
According to sources, the Capital Development Authority, district administration and police have prepared a joint operational framework and forwarded it to the Ministry of Interior for approval.
The operation will involve Islamabad Police, CDA Enforcement teams, Frontier Corps personnel and Rangers, who will work together to remove illegal encroachments from different parts of the federal capital.
Sources said authorities will begin the operation by clearing katchi abadis in several sectors of the city during the first phase of the campaign.
The drive will specifically target informal settlements and encroachments in G-7, I-9 and Mehrabadi, where officials plan to clear illegally occupied land.
Officials will first issue one-month notices to encroachers through CDA Enforcement teams, urging residents to vacate the settlements voluntarily before the operation begins.
However, authorities will launch a full-scale clearance operation using heavy machinery if occupants fail to comply with the notices, sources added.
