FIFA confirms training bases for 2026 World Cup nations

FIFA training bases 2026

The defending champion Argentina and the England team will have their FIFA World Cup 2026 base camps in Kansas City, adding to the list of team training camps announced by FIFA on Monday.

The 39 teams will have base camps in the US, with seven having base camps in Mexico and two teams’ base camps will be in Canada.

They will be competing in the expanded 48-team World Cup starting next month throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Team base camps are crucial to the tournament as they offer players a home base for training, recovery and adaptation to the tournament environment, FIFA chief operating officer Heimo Schirgi said.

Iran will call Tijuana, Mexico home after Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum agreed to host the team to prevent possible US visa issues.

Additionally, Colombia, South Korea, Mexico, South Africa, Tunisia and Uruguay will retain their bases in Mexico, and Canada and Panama will be based in Canada.
