DHA Islamabad imposes fines on residents over performing Qurbani outside designated slaughter points

The Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Islamabad-Rawalpindi has issued a strict warning to its residents, carrying out Qurbani outside the specified slaughter points will face fines, as stated in an official notice.

This directive is issued in anticipation of Eid ul Azha 2026, with DHA I-R stressing the importance of a well-organised and hygienic Qurbani experience throughout all its communities.

As per the notice, slaughtering animals in unauthorised locations is now strictly forbidden, and failure to comply may lead to financial penalties.

DHA I-R has designated sector-specific slaughterhouse locations that are fully equipped to ensure proper and hygienic animal slaughter.

While the authority allows home Qurbani for small animals only, all larger animals including cows, bulls, and camels must be slaughtered solely at the designated sites.

The notice, which was shared on DHA I-R’s official Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) accounts, informs residents that enforcement actions, including fines, will be enacted immediately for any violations.

Authorities have called upon all residents to cooperate and use the designated slaughter facilities to prevent penalties.
