Eidul Azha reflects spirit of sacrifice, obedience: President Zardari

President Zardari Eidul Azha

Asif Ali Zardari has extended Eidul Azha greetings to the people of Pakistan, overseas Pakistanis and the Muslim Ummah, saying the occasion teaches Muslims the values of obedience to Allah, patience, sincerity and sacrifice shown by Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismail (AS).

In his message on Eidul Azha 1447 Hijra, President Zardari said sacrifice is not only a religious duty but also a message of morality, compassion and service to humanity.

He said true success does not come from wealth or power, but from honesty, piety, kindness and helping others.

Quoting a saying of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), the president said the best person in the sight of Allah is the one who benefits people the most.

President Zardari said Eidul Azha also highlights the importance of sacrifice, tolerance, discipline, honesty and mutual respect in national life.

He urged citizens to stay united despite differences and promote love, dialogue and tolerance instead of hatred and division.

The president also asked people to support weaker sections of society, respect the law, keep the environment clean and play their role in making Pakistan peaceful, dignified and developed.

Addressing the youth, women, workers, farmers, teachers, scholars, traders and government employees, he said every citizen can contribute positively to society through honest actions and hard work.

He stressed that the country can overcome despair through unity, education, service and dedication.

President Zardari further urged the nation to adopt the spirit of sacrifice throughout the year by promoting justice, compassion, loyalty to the homeland and respect for others.

He said the true joy of Eid can only be complete when underprivileged people, including orphans, widows, labourers, persons with disabilities and the sick, are also included in the celebrations.
