Asif Ali Zardari and Shehbaz Sharif offered Eidul Azha prayers with thousands of worshippers and called on the nation to promote unity, sacrifice and compassion on the religious occasion.
President Zardari offered Eid prayers at Zardari House in Nawabshah, where many citizens and dignitaries joined the congregation. He prayed for the country’s security, progress and prosperity and later exchanged Eid greetings with citizens and local elders.
In his Eid message, President Zardari said Eidul Azha teaches Muslims the values of obedience, patience and sacrifice shown by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and Prophet Ismail (AS). He stressed the need to strengthen national harmony, brotherhood and support for underprivileged people.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif offered Eid prayers in Lahore and prayed for peace, stability and prosperity in the country. He urged people to remember the poor and deserving during Eid celebrations and called for joint efforts to strengthen unity and face national challenges together.
The prime minister said Eidul Azha teaches Muslims to sacrifice for the greater good and put collective welfare above personal interests.
Special prayers were also held across the country for Pakistan’s progress, public welfare and unity of the Muslim Ummah, while people celebrated Eidul Azha with religious spirit and traditional enthusiasm.

Earlier, President Asif Ali Zardari extended Eidul Azha greetings to the people of Pakistan, overseas Pakistanis and the Muslim Ummah, saying the occasion teaches Muslims the values of obedience to Allah, patience, sincerity and sacrifice shown by Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismail (AS).
In his message on Eidul Azha 1447 Hijra, President Zardari said sacrifice is not only a religious duty but also a message of morality, compassion and service to humanity.
