Lahore gears up for Pakistan-Australia ODI series

Pakistan win toss, opt to field first against Australia in ODI series opener

The preparations for Pakistan’s upcoming One Day International (ODI) match against Australia have reached their final stages, and officials are ramping up efforts to make sure there is no hiccup in hosting the remaining matches of the series.

The preparations in Nishtar Park Sports Complex are underway ahead of the eagerly awaited face-offs.

The field is reportedly being completely prepared for two ODI encounters between Pakistan and Australia.

Authorities are pleased with the progress made in preparations, saying all key facilities are being improved and checked to international standards ahead of the arrival of players and supporters.

The stadium is ready to host both teams, officials disclosed, adding that facilities of Gaddafi Stadium in the Nishtar Park Sports Complex are ready.

Emphasis is placed on enhancing the overall match day experience for fans.

Maintenance and cleaning operations are ongoing throughout the stadium, especially at entry and exit areas, to ensure that it can be used effectively and to reduce congestion during the games.

Extra lighting has been added to the roads around the sports complex for an expected large crowd.

The upgraded lighting will help make the area more accessible and will make it safer and easier for fans to come and go from the stadium in the evenings.

Organisers have also decided on team practice sessions, where Pakistan and Australia are also getting required facilities ahead of their start.

The comprehensive preparations are reportedly underway and include security, logistic and operational plans.

The second ODI will be played on June 2.

With a 1-0 record, Pakistan now have the momentum as they strive to secure the series at home from Australia in a best-of-three match-up.
