The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) has issued special safety guidelines for motorists as heavy traffic is expected on motorways and national highways following the conclusion of Eid holidays.
In a statement, the NHMP spokesperson said traffic volume is likely to increase significantly as thousands of travellers return to their home cities after spending the holidays in various tourist destinations across the country.
To ensure safe travel, motorists have been urged to strictly adhere to speed limits and traffic regulations while using motorways and highways. The motorway police also stressed the importance of maintaining lane discipline, staying focused on the road and wearing seat belts throughout the journey.
The advisory further cautioned drivers against travelling while fatigued or drowsy, emphasizing that adequate rest is essential before undertaking long-distance trips.
Authorities said following these safety measures will help prevent accidents and ensure a smooth flow of traffic during the post-Eid travel rush.
