U-18 Asia Cup Malaysia hold nerve to beat Pakistan 3–2 in tight encounter

In the U-18 Asia Cup Hockey Tournament, the Pakistan hockey team was defeated by Malaysia in a closely fought match, with Malaysia winning 3–2.

Malaysia dominated the first half, building a commanding 3–0 lead by halftime. However, Pakistan responded strongly after the break, mounting an impressive comeback and scoring two goals in the second half. Despite their late surge, Pakistan fell just short as Malaysia held on to secure the victory.

Pakistan will play their final group match against Bangladesh on Wednesday. In their first match, Pakistan defeated China 3–0.

Pakistan’s Muzammil opened the scoring in the 42nd minute, while Muhammad Farhan added a second goal in the final minute of the match.

For Malaysia, Dhiresh proved instrumental with two consecutive goals, while Israf contributed another to seal the victory.

Pakistan will next face Bangladesh in their third match of the tournament on June 3. The national junior hockey team is receiving support from PTCL and Alaska Batteries.
