Private schools in Islamabad have once again been directed to strictly adhere to the official summer vacation schedule, with authorities warning that legal action will be taken against any institution found violating the orders.
According to details, the Ministry of Federal Education has reissued a formal notification for all private educational institutions operating in the federal capital, reinforcing the implementation of the summer holidays schedule for 2026.
The move comes after reports surfaced that some private schools were not complying with the previously issued government directives. Authorities said such violations prompted the need for a fresh and stricter reminder.
The Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA), functioning under the Ministry of Education, stated that all private schools in Islamabad are bound to follow the already-notified summer vacation schedule from May 25 to July 31, 2026, without exception.
The notification further instructed school owners and principals to ensure full compliance with the official order issued on May 21, both in letter and spirit. It stressed that no institution would be allowed to deviate from the approved timeline.
PEIRA also issued a strong warning, stating that any attempt to ignore or undermine the instructions would result in strict legal action through the Islamabad district administration under the relevant provisions of the PEIRA Act 2013.
Officials reiterated that enforcement measures would be ensured across all private educational institutions to maintain uniformity in the academic calendar.
Meanwhile, it is important to note that the Punjab government has already announced summer vacations for all public and private schools across the province from May 22 to August 23, 2026, with classes scheduled to resume on August 24.
However, in Islamabad, the summer break will remain in effect only until July 31 under the federal schedule.
