The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has announced summer vacations for all public and private educational institutions across the region.
According to an official notification, summer holidays will begin on June 8 in all government and private schools, colleges, and other educational institutions in AJK.
Under the schedule, educational institutions will remain closed during the vacation period and will reopen on August 9, 2026.
The decision applies to all educational institutes operating across Azad Jammu and Kashmir and has been taken in view of the summer season.
Summer holidays announced for Islamabad schools
The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has officially announced summer vacations for all public and private schools and colleges in Islamabad from May 25.
According to the notification issued by the FDE, all public and private schools and colleges in Islamabad will close from May 25 till July 31, 2026.
Classes will resume on August 3 after the summer break.
The decision applies to all Islamabad Model Schools, colleges and Ex-FG institutions in both urban and rural areas of the capital.
According to the FDE, heads of institutions and administrative staff will continue to work during the holidays from 9:00am to 1:00pm.
The directive also outlines several academic and administrative activities during the vacation period. A two-week “Summer Fiesta” for students will begin from June 15, with further details to be shared after Eid ul Azha.
Officials said special coaching classes for Grade IX and X students will be arranged in June or July to ensure timely completion of the syllabus. These classes may also be conducted through digital classrooms, with live sessions in June and recorded lectures in July.
Training sessions for teachers will also be held, and participation of nominated staff has been made mandatory.
Meanwhile, undergraduate classes (BS and ADP programmes) will continue as per the academic calendar.
The notification further directs institutions to carry out repair, maintenance and stock-checking activities during the summer break.
The order has been issued with the approval of the Director General of the Federal Directorate of Education.
