Heavy rain, hailstorms forecast for most parts of the country

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast more heavy rainfall and hailstorms in various parts of the country over the coming days.

According to the Met Office, several areas of Punjab are likely to receive heavy rain and hailstorms. Rain is also expected in Islamabad this evening, as well as in Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Faisalabad, Okara, Kasur, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh and Rajanpur.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, heavy rain and hailstorms are expected at isolated locations. Rainfall is forecast in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Bajaur, Shangla, Battagram, Kohat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber, Waziristan, Peshawar, Haripur, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Mardan and Hangu.

Meanwhile, most districts of Sindh are expected to experience hot and dry weather. However, rain is likely in Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Dadu, Ghotki, Kashmore and Shikarpur.

In Balochistan, southern districts are expected to remain extremely hot, while rain is forecast in Quetta, Zhob, Sherani, Ziarat, Chaman, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Barkhan, Dera Bugti, Nasirabad, Kohlu, Musa Khel, and Khuzdar.

The weather department has advised residents in affected areas to stay updated on weather conditions and take necessary precautions during periods of heavy rain, thunderstorms, and possible hailstorms.

Rain, storms injure more than 20 people across Pakistan

The recent rain and storms in various cities of Pakistan have injured more than 20 people across the country.

More than 20 people were injured after strong winds, dust storms and heavy rain swept across parts of Pakistan.

Rain in Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) regions has brought relief from a prolonged heatwave but also caused disruption in several regions.

In KP, stormy weather led to a number of incidents involving falling trees, collapsing walls and damaged signboards.

Rescue officials said more than 20 people were injured in different districts, while emergency teams and local authorities carried out relief operations in affected areas.
