Students in Sindh can now easily apply for college admissions through an online application system, according to details on Wednesday.
According to a spokesperson for the Sindh Education Department, the online admission web portal of the Sindh College Education Department is functioning normally.
The department said students can submit their applications for college admissions through the Sindh Electronic Centralised College Admission Program (SECCAP) platform.
In a statement, officials said the online admission platform has been improved and upgraded. They added that the system is working smoothly and students can submit their applications without any difficulties.
What is SECCAP
SECCAP stands for the Sindh Electronic Centralised College Admission Program. It is an official online portal managed by the Education & Literacy Department of the Government of Sindh.
It streamlines first-year (XI) admissions for all government colleges across Sindh, particularly in Karachi.
How to apply through the SECCAP portal
Firstly, the applicant needs to register and fill out the electronic application form on the SECCAP Portal. Then, to submit preferences, the applicant can list their preferred public colleges in order of choice.
In the third step, candidates should submit the required items like their B-Form number, matric exam roll number, and marks sheet.
Afterwards, SECCAP will process the submissions and issue localised merit lists in multiple rounds for the merit and allocation round.
Finally, to check the results, the applicant can view their final college placement by entering their roll number or student registration data.
Sindh to offer golden handshake to teachers
The Sindh Education Department recently prepared a new policy to fix staff imbalances in government schools.
The plan includes a proposed golden handshake scheme for surplus teachers and changes in recruitment rules to improve administration, according to the reports.
According to the details, the department will identify teachers who are in excess in schools where staff numbers are higher than student enrolment.
These teachers may be offered voluntary early retirement under a golden handshake programme.
