Italy is likely to offer 10,500 jobs for the workers in Pakistan.

Speaking at an event in Islamabad, the Italian Ambassador Marilina Armellin said that Italy will provide employment opportunities to the Pakistani workers over the next three years under a labour mobility programme.

He said that the initiative reflected Rome’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Pakistan in areas including labour mobility, education, diplomacy and economic ties.

She said the programme would create legal pathways for thousands of Pakistanis to work in Italy, helping to deepen people-to-people links between the two countries.

The ambassador also announced that 3,200 scholarships had been allocated for Pakistani students for the 2025-26 academic year, enabling them to pursue higher education at Italian universities.

Armellin described educational cooperation as an important pillar of bilateral relations and said the scholarships would provide Pakistani students with greater academic and professional opportunities.

Addressing regional developments, the ambassador expressed support for Pakistan’s efforts to promote dialogue and diplomacy, including its role in encouraging engagement between the United States and Iran.

The remarks were delivered at a reception hosted by the Italian Embassy to celebrate the 80th Italy Day, attended by diplomats, government officials and members of civil society.

He expressed hope that growing cooperation with European countries would encourage greater Italian investment in Pakistan.

The ceremony concluded with a cake-cutting event, symbolising the continued strengthening of ties between Islamabad and Rome.
