We will start housing project in Gilgit Baltistan after winning elections: Bilawal Bhutto

Housing project in Gilgit Baltistan Bilawal Bhutto

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that if his party comes into power, it will launch a housing project in Gilgit-Baltistan to address public needs.

Addressing a public gathering in Ghizer, Bilawal Bhutto urged people to come out on June 7 and vote for the PPP, saying the party stands for “right to governance, right to ownership, and right to employment.”

He said that job creation has remained a key part of the PPP’s three-generation legacy. He added that the late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto provided employment opportunities both within Pakistan and abroad for young people.

He also recalled that former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto faced legal cases for giving jobs, but remained committed to her policy, saying she would continue doing so if it was considered a crime.

Bilawal Bhutto criticised rival political parties, saying that after the PPP’s government, provincial administrations stopped creating jobs instead of expanding opportunities. He also alleged that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government at the federal level had been removing people from state institutions. He said the PPP creates jobs, while others take them away.

He further claimed that the PPP is the only political party capable of delivering on its promises and said that other parties lack both a clear vision and a proper manifesto. He accused rival parties of attempting to form governments in Gilgit-Baltistan without genuine public support.

The PPP chairman said his party does not need assistance from Islamabad and plans to develop power projects in Gilgit-Baltistan through public-private partnerships. He added that the region has the potential to generate around 50,000 megawatts of electricity.

He further stated that people of Gilgit-Baltistan could supply this electricity to Islamabad and other cities in the future. Bilawal Bhutto said that once in power, the PPP would work to resolve the long-standing issues of the region and improve living standards through development projects and employment opportunities.
