The member of the National Assembly of Pakistan and the chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto, while addressing a jalsa in Gilgit on Tuesday, said that the PPP is the sole voice for marginalised segments of society.
He also said that he prays that peace efforts by the Chief of Army Staff and the Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir succeed.
Addressing a PPP rally in Skardu, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that he visited Gilgit Baltistan in the last election; no other politician has visited GB districts as much as he has.
He said that during Ramzan, the former Supreme Leader of Iran, Khamenei, was martyred in Iran. ‘It did not seem to be appropriate to run an election campaign here in these circumstances,’ he added.
The PPP chairman further said that he prays that the efforts of the field marshal to end the war are successful.
‘Peace efforts must be successful; people around the world are bearing the burden of war with Iran,’ he added.
He said that the PPP is the only political party representing the backward class. ‘What kind of economic policy and development is this that the rich get richer?’ he questioned.
Benazir Income Support Program (BISP)
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also said that the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) is the only institution in Islamabad that reaches the homes of every poor person.
He said that the conspiracies of political parties against BISP will fail, and the Prime Minister will announce an increase in BISP funds in the budget.
PP Chairman said that the atomic bomb was given by Zulfikar Bhutto and missile technology by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, GB was called Northern Areas, the name GB was given by President Zardari.
