Unannounced power outages disrupt electric bus service in Karachi

Recently, unannounced power outages in Karachi partially affected the city’s electric bus service, according to the management of the People’s Bus Service.

According to the details, the EV-1, EV-3 and R-1 Pink Bus routes remained suspended on Tuesday due to electricity related issues.

The administration said that all three routes are operated by electric buses running from the Mehran Depot. There the power supply had remained suspended for the past three days.

As a temporary measure, hybrid buses had been deployed on these routes over the last three days to maintain services.

Lahore residents protest over prolonged gas outage

Previously, the residents of Block 8 in the Township area of Lahore staged a protest after they faced several days of gas suspension.

According to the residents, the disruption in gas supply has severely affected daily household life. People said that they had been facing major difficulties in cooking meals.

During the protest against the extended gas shutdown, demonstrators demanded the immediate restoration of gas supply.

They said that despite paying gas bills, they are being forced to rely on LPG cylinders costing around Rs500 per kilogram to manage daily needs.
