Counting Begins After Polling Ends in Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly Elections

Counting of votes has begun following the conclusion of polling for the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly elections, while the process of issuing unofficial results is currently underway.

The unofficial and initial results of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly elections are coming in. In various constituencies, there is a tough contest between the Pakistan People’s Party, the Pakistan Muslim League-N, the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party, independent candidates, and other parties. According to the initial unofficial results, the PML-N is leading in 7 constituencies, while some constituencies are witnessing a close and competitive race.

A total of 403 candidates contested the elections across various constituencies. Voter turnout remained strong throughout the day, with polling stations witnessing heavy crowds and long queues since morning. The polling process continued smoothly and without interruption until 5 pm.

GBA-1 Gilgit-1:

According to the unofficial and initial results from 35% of the 80 polling stations in constituency GBA-1 Gilgit-1, Pakistan Peoples Party’s Amjad Hussain is leading with 3,600 votes, while Pakistan Muslim League-N’s Muhammad Shafiq-ud-Din is in second place with 2,300 votes.

GBA-2 Gilgit-2:

According to the results from 1 out of 91 polling stations in GBA-2 Gilgit-2, PPP’s Jamil Ahmed is leading, while PML-N candidate Hafeez-ur-Rehman is in second place.

GBA-4 Nagar-1:

According to the results from 24 out of 53 polling stations in GBA-4 Nagar-1, PPP’s Muhammad Ali Akhtar is leading with 2,720 votes, while Islamic Tehreek Pakistan’s Muhammad Ayub Wazir is in second place with 2,608 votes.

GBA-5 Nagar-2:


According to the results from 1 out of 32 polling stations in GBA-5 Nagar-2, PML-N’s Javed Ali Manwa is leading with 82 votes, while independent candidate Safdar Hussain Manwa is in second place with 52 votes.

GBA-6 Hunza:


According to the results from 5 out of 88 polling stations in GBA-6 Hunza, independent candidate Nek Nam Karim is leading with 364 votes, while Raja Nazim Al Amin is in second place with 260 votes.

GBA-7 Skardu-1:


According to the results from 13 out of 31 polling stations in GBA-7 Skardu-1, Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party’s Raja Jalal Hussain Khan is leading with 1,862 votes, while PPP’s Syed Taqweer Mehdi is in second place with 1,610 votes.

GBA-8 Skardu-2:


According to the results from 4 out of 70 polling stations in GBA-8 Skardu-2, PML-N’s Imtiaz Haider Khan is leading with 488 votes, while PPP’s Syed Muhammad Ali Shah is in second place with 461 votes.

GBA-9 Skardu-3:


According to the results from 1 out of 54 polling stations in GBA-9 Skardu-3, independent candidate Wazir Muhammad Saleem is leading with 405 votes, while PPP’s Fida Muhammad Nashad is in second place with 18 votes.

GBA-10 Skardu-4:

According to the results from 5 out of 51 polling stations in GBA-10 Skardu-4, Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Pakistan’s Mushtaq Hussain is leading with 457 votes, while PPP’s Nisar Ali Khan is in second place with 385 votes.

GBA-11 Kharmang:

According to the results from 5 out of 51 polling stations in GBA-11 Kharmang, PPP’s Iqbal Hassan is leading with 846 votes, while PML-N’s Syed Mohsin Rizvi is in second place with 315 votes.

GBA-12 Shigar:


According to the results from 6 out of 71 polling stations in GBA-12 Shigar, PPP’s Imran Nadeem is leading with 1,115 votes, while PML-N’s Tahir Shigri is in second place with 480 votes.

GBA-13:


In GBA-13, PML-N’s Shah Firman is leading, while the PPP candidate is in second place. A close contest is ongoing between the two candidates.

GBA-14 Astore-2:


According to the results from 15 out of 51 polling stations in GBA-14 Astore-2, PML-N’s Rana Muhammad Farooq is leading with 4,300 votes, while Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party’s Shams-ul-Haq Lone is in second place with 3,886 votes.

GBA-16 Diamer-2:


According to the results from 1 out of 42 polling stations in GBA-16 Diamer-2, Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party’s Atiq Ullah is leading with 195 votes, while PPP’s Atta Ullah is in second place with 143 votes.

GBA-18 Diamer-4:


According to the results from 2 out of 32 polling stations in GBA-18 Diamer-4, Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party’s Gulbar Khan is leading with 386 votes, while PML-N’s Kifayat-ur-Rehman is in second place with 139 votes.

GBA-19 Ghizer-1:

According to the results from 9 out of 78 polling stations in GBA-19 Ghizer-1, independent candidate Nawaz Khan Naji is leading with 1,223 votes, while PML-N’s Zafar Muhammad is in second place with 809 votes.

GBA-20 Ghizer-2:

According to the results from 1 out of 69 polling stations in GBA-20 Ghizer-2, PPP’s Nazir Ahmed is leading with 126 votes, while PML-N’s Abdul Jahan is in second place with 77 votes.

GBA-21 Ghizer-3:

According to the results from 1 out of 60 polling stations in GBA-21 Ghizer-3, PPP’s Muhammad Ayub Shah is leading with 87 votes, while PML-N’s Ghulam Muhammad is in second place with 70 votes.

GBA-22 Ghanche-1:

According to the results from 7 out of 58 polling stations in GBA-22 Ghanche-1, PML-N’s Muhammad Ibrahim Sanai is leading with 951 votes, while PPP’s Ashiq Hussain is in second place with 888 votes.

GBA-23 Ghanche-2:

According to the results from 3 out of 50 polling stations in GBA-23 Ghanche-2, independent candidate Anwar Ali is leading with 651 votes, while independent candidate Abdul Hameed is in second place with 79 votes.

GBA-24 Ghanche-3:
According to the results from 12 out of 46 polling stations in GBA-24 Ghanche-3, independent candidate Asad Shafiq is leading with 2,155 votes, while PPP’s Muhammad Ismail is in second place with 835 votes.

PML-N ahead in early count for GBA-1 Gilgit-1, unofficial results

According to unofficial results from one of the 86 polling stations in GBA-1 Gilgit-1, Muhammad Shafiquddin of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) is leading with 187 votes, while Amjad Hussain of the Pakistan People’s Party is in second place with 104 votes.

GBA-8 Skardu-II: Imtiaz Haider Khan of PML-N leads early count with 214 votes

According to the unofficial, provisional results from 1 out of 70 polling stations in GBA-8 Skardu-II, Imtiaz Haider Khan of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) is leading with 214 votes, while Syed Muhammad Ali Shah of the Pakistan People’s Party is in second place with 80 votes.

According to the unofficial, provisional results from 1 out of 54 polling stations in GBA-9 Skardu-III, independent candidate Wazir Muhammad Saleem is leading with 405 votes, while Fida Muhammad Nashad of the Pakistan People’s Party is in second place with 18 votes.

Provisional results from 3 out of 51 polling stations in GBA-10 Skardu-IV, Nisar Ali Khan of the Pakistan People’s Party is leading with 211 votes, while Mushtaq Hussain of the Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Pakistan is in second place with 148 votes.

Provisional results from 1 out of 51 polling stations in GBA-11 Kharmang, Iqbal Hassan of the Pakistan People’s Party is leading with 125 votes, while Syed Mohsin Rizvi of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) is in second place with 64 votes.
