Medical body urges PM Shehbaz to ensure protection of doctors across Pakistan

The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) has strongly condemned the acid attack on a female doctor in Quetta, calling it a disturbing and alarming incident.

According to details, the Secretary General of PMA Central has written a letter to Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, urging immediate attention to the matter and improved protection for medical professionals across the country.

The association stressed the need for effective security measures to ensure the safety of doctors serving in challenging conditions.

Dr Abdul Ghafoor Shoro stated that security and proper facilities should be provided to doctors across the country. He added that many specialist doctors do not want to work in Pakistan and are leaving for opportunities abroad.

The Secretary General further mentioned in the letter that there is a severe shortage of doctors nationwide. Despite limited resources, doctors are working day and night. He said it has become very difficult for doctors to work under such conditions.

Dr Abdul Ghafoor Shoro urged the Prime Minister of Pakistan to take immediate steps to improve the situation for doctors and medical staff across the country.
