The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, said on Monday that the recent surge in violence in the Middle East is a stark reminder of the dangers associated with a tenuous ceasefire and the unbearable consequences it may lead to.
Writing on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, he expressed that as we work earnestly and painstakingly, together with our brothers and partners, to find a peaceful diplomatic solution to the conflict, and especially when the final objective is just about to be achieved.
Further, he added, “We sincerely urge all sides to exercise restraint and give peace a little more chance.”
“Let us continue to remain on the path of peace and diplomacy, which have bright prospects of success instead of violence and destruction!” the PM added further.

Iran and Israel bomb each other
Israel carried out attacks across Iran overnight. International media reports that explosions were reported in Tehran, Tabriz, Karaj, and Isfahan.
This marks the most serious escalation between the two countries since a fragile ceasefire began in April, according to the reports.
The strikes came hours after Iran fired missiles toward northern Israel. Iran said Israel had broken the ceasefire many times through its military operations in Lebanon. Israel says those operations target Hezbollah, a group backed by Iran in Lebanon.
The President of the United States(US), Donald Trump, called on both sides to stop attacking each other.
“Israel and Iran must immediately stop ‘shooting’,” he said in a post on his Truth Social platform.
Iran ‘will not retreat in the face of any threat’, President Pezeshkian
The President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, said that the country has “neither abandoned the field nor the negotiating table”.
He said in a post on X that the country’s priority is “national security and the peace of our people.” Further, he added that it would “not retreat in the face of any threat”.
