The well-known video game company EA Sports FC has made its prediction for the possible winner of the 2026 tournament.
In a post on X (Twitter), the company stated: “We have correctly predicted the winner four times before, and we are going to do it again.” According to EA Sports, the winner of the 2026 World Cup will be Spain.
The company has reportedly correctly predicted every World Cup winner since 2010: Spain in 2010, Germany in 2014, France in 2018, and Argentina in 2022.
Separately, the sports analytics supercomputer Opta has also predicted Spain to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
It is worth mentioning here that the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be the largest edition in the history of the tournament, featuring 48 teams and 1,248 players for the first time.
The tournament, jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada, will divide the 48 participating teams into 12 groups of four. A total of 104 matches will be played.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage, and for the first time in the tournament’s history, a Round of 32 will be introduced.
