Pak Army military helicopter crashes near Muzaffarabad: ISPR

A Pakistan Army MI-17 military helicopter crashed near Muzaffarabad after a technical fault during takeoff, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

According to Pakistan Army’s media wing, all personnel on board embraced martyrdom in the tragic incident.

The ISPR confirmed that there were no survivors in the crash, adding that the helicopter went down shortly after a technical malfunction during takeoff operations near Muzaffarabad.

ISPR added that rescue and recovery teams immediately reached the crash site. It added that a board of inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the exact technical cause of the accident.

Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep grief over the tragic loss of precious lives and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
