US–Iran peace deal closer than ever, says PM Shehbaz

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that a final, agreed-upon text of a peace deal between the United States and Iran has been reached, marking what he described as a breakthrough in Pakistan’s mediation efforts.

In a statement shared on social media, the prime minister said Pakistan is fully aware of what he called an “incessant misinformation campaign” being run by those trying to derail the peace process.

He urged observers to ignore speculation and focus on the diplomatic progress achieved so far.

PM Shehbaz said that despite such efforts, the negotiation process has reached a decisive stage, with agreement now secured on the final draft of the US–Iran peace deal. He added that Pakistan is working closely with both sides to finalise the next steps for implementation.

He further stated that peace has “never been this close,” expressing optimism that sustained diplomatic engagement could soon lead to a historic breakthrough in US–Iran relations.
