Minister of State for Interior and Narcotics Control Tallal Chaudhry has raised concerns over what he described as contradictions in claims of a ‘peaceful protest’ and reports involving “500 riflemen.
In a statement shared on X, Chaudhry suggested that the situation reflects what he called the ‘real face’ of the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC). He said the group’s activities would be subject to further scrutiny.
He further stated that authorities would conduct a thorough investigation into what he termed “anti-state conspiracies” in accordance with the law, adding that appropriate legal action would be taken based on the findings.
The remarks come amid heightened political sensitivity around public gatherings and security concerns, with officials reiterating that any activities deemed unlawful or against the state will be dealt with through due process.
It is worth mentioning here that a new audio clip attributed to the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) has raised serious questions about the organisation’s claims of engaging in “peaceful activities.
According to media reports, a conversation between alleged JAAC leaders Sajid Azam and Hameed Kashmiri can be heard in the recording. In the clip, discussions reportedly concern advancing toward Rawalakot, the movement of processions, and strategies for possible entry into the area.
Some parts of the audio also claim the presence of a large number of supporters and refer to the preparation of armed groups. The conversation further includes remarks about reaching Rawalakot, putting forward various demands, and securing the release of their associates.
