The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, while addressing the national assembly today, announced that Pakistan will be hosting the signing of the US-Iran agreement, which will be taking place in Geneva.
During his speech he said “On this historic day, my speech would be incomplete without mentioning Pakistan’s great and brave son Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. He devoted his days and nights to extinguishing the flames of war and remained awake day and night throughout this entire period.”

Addressing the National Assembly, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that after the dark night of war, the sun of peace has risen.
The United States and Iran have announced a permanent end to military actions on all fronts. The parties, in difficult circumstances, did not abandon patience, tolerance, and wisdom.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan will host the peace agreement ceremony between the United States and Iran to be held in Geneva, and he congratulated Pakistan as well as the entire international world on this.
Shehbaz Sharif further said that he is also deeply grateful to the party leadership, his party leader Nawaz Sharif, whose guidance is always available to him.
He congratulated President Asif Zardari, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and all party leaders.
This is not just an agreement between two countries but a victory of peace and dialogue. This is a success of diplomacy and the destruction of war.
The Prime Minister said that in this distinguished House, he congratulates the President of the United States Trump, Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, the Iranian President, and all members of both teams involved in the peace process.
The parties did not leave the path of wisdom, prudence, and patience in difficult circumstances.
He paid tribute to the Emir of Qatar for his full cooperation in the delicate, difficult, and patience-testing negotiation process.
The Emir of Qatar played a highly positive role. He also thanked the forward-looking leadership and full cooperation of Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman and the President of Turkey.
