Sindh Minister for Information and Transport Sharjeel Inam Memon has announced good news for citizens, stating that a large number of double-decker and electric (EV) buses will be arriving in Karachi this year.
According to the minister, the modern buses will be introduced in phases and deployed on different routes across the city.
He said the initiative is part of the Sindh government’s plan to modernise the public transport system and expand the Peoples Bus Service network.
According to him, these modern double-decker and electric buses will be introduced in phases on different routes across the city.
He added that the Sindh government is working rapidly on its vision to modernise the public transport system. Following the success of the Peoples Bus Service, a large number of EV and double-decker buses are now being added to the fleet.
He further stated that these projects are shaping the future direction of Karachi. The electric buses will be environmentally friendly as well as provide affordable and comfortable travel, while the double-decker buses will enhance the city’s beauty and transport culture.
Sharjeel Inam Memon clarified that this step is not merely an increase in the number of buses but a new beginning in the journey toward a modern and developed Karachi.
