The government of Pakistan has introduced a new electricity bill format across the country.
The authorities said that a major change will be made to make billing information easier for consumers to read and understand.
According to officials, the redesigned bill has been developed with a focus on simplicity, transparency and a better user experience, following longstanding complaints from consumers about the complexity of the previous format.
Many electricity users had argued that existing bills contained excessive information, technical terminology and a cluttered layout, making it difficult to identify key details such as charges, consumption and payment deadlines.
Under the new design, essential information, including the total amount payable, payment due date and electricity consumption, is displayed more prominently.
Authorities say the changes will allow consumers to quickly access the most important billing information without having to navigate through multiple sections.
The updated bills also feature a QR code, enabling users to access additional information and digital services through their mobile devices.
Officials said the initiative is part of broader efforts to improve transparency and make public services more accessible, with the redesigned format expected to enhance consumer understanding of electricity charges and usage.
The new billing format has now been rolled out nationwide and will be used by electricity consumers across Pakistan.
