The Pakistani Consulate General in Dubai has announced major relief for passport applicants by removing the requirement for advance appointments.
According to the consulate, applicants seeking passport services can now visit the consulate directly during working hours on any business day without booking an appointment in advance.
In an official statement, the consulate said passport applications can be submitted from Monday to Thursday between 7:00 am and 1:00 pm, while services on Fridays will be available from 7:00 am to 11:00 am.
The revised arrangement is intended to provide applicants with direct and easier access to passport services without the need for prior scheduling.
New Fees for 5-Year Pakistani Passports
For a 36-page Machine Readable Passport (MRP), applicants will pay AED 110 under the normal processing category, while the urgent processing fee has been set at AED 180.
For a 72-page passport, the normal processing fee is AED 200, while urgent processing will cost AED 325.
Applicants seeking a 100-page passport will pay AED 220 for normal processing and AED 435 for urgent issuance.
New Fees for 10-Year Pakistani Passports
For a 36-page passport, the fee has been set at AED 160 for normal processing and AED 270 for urgent processing.
For a 72-page passport, applicants will pay AED 300 for normal service and AED 485 for urgent processing.
For a 100-page passport, the fee is AED 325 under the normal category, while urgent issuance will cost AED 650.
The consulate said the new arrangements are aimed at improving service delivery and making passport facilities more accessible to the Pakistani community in the United Arab Emirates.
Plan for cashless passport fee collection
Recently, significant progress has been reported in the development of a digital payment system for passport fees.
According to reports, Director General of Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa held a key meeting with Muhammad Munir Afsar, Chairman of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), where both sides agreed to strengthen institutional collaboration.
During the meeting, officials approved plans to introduce QR code based payment options through popular digital platforms, including JazzCash, EasyPaisa, and 1LINK.
