A video circulating on social media is being shared with the claim that residents of Neelum Valley apprehended an alleged informer linked to Shah Ghulam Qadir and Mian Waheed. The posts claim that locals detained the individual for allegedly acting as a “tout” and secretly providing information.
However, the claim is misleading.
Verification shows that the footage is old and is not related to any recent incident in Neelum Valley. The video is currently being circulated by accounts associated with the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) and its supporters while being portrayed as a recent development.
There is no evidence in the video itself linking the individual shown to Shah Ghulam Qadir or Mian Waheed, nor have any credible reports or official statements emerged confirming the allegations being shared online.
The footage predates the current claims and is being shared out of context with an unverified narrative. Based on available evidence, the viral claim is false. Social media users are advised to verify information from credible sources before sharing videos containing unsubstantiated allegations against individuals.

Earlier, the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) suffered another setback after core committee member Anjum Zaman Awan announced his disassociation from the organisation.
In a video message, Awan rejected what he described as the committee’s politics of unrest and urged young people to return to positive and constructive political engagement.
Addressing the youth, Awan said they were being misled by slogans of separation and autonomy, alleging that anti-Pakistan forces were working behind such narratives.
