The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has abolished the 100 per cent work-from-home facility on Fridays, restoring the day as a regular working day for all government offices.
The Administration Department issued a notification withdrawing the March 17, 2026 order related to the work-from-home policy with immediate effect.
According to the notification, Fridays will now be observed as normal official working days, and all government employees will be required to attend their offices and perform their duties in person.
The decision was taken in light of directives issued during the 54th meeting of the provincial cabinet. Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has directed all government departments to implement the revised policy immediately.
Earlier, the federal government increased the petrol prices in Pakistan by Rs55. After the price hike, the government was planning to save petroleum products by taking necessary measures. However, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government approved the work-from-home policy in the province.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government allowed 100% of government employees to work from home to save petrol and improve governance.
Through this government policy, 100% of government workers will work from home to save petrol and reduce the financial burden on the provincial government.
