Partly cloudy and humid weather is expected in Karachi in the coming 24 hours with light drizzle in isolated areas during early morning and night times, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
Daytime temperatures in the port city are likely to range between 33°C and 35°C, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 29.1°C. Humidity remains high at 78 per cent, with sea breezes blowing at around 18 km/h, adding to the muggy conditions.
Overnight rains in Lahore were accompanied by a considerable drop in temperature, which made the weather cooler and pleasant. Cloudy and sunny weather are mixed in the city and the current temperature is 30℃.
Highest temperature is forecast to be 37°C, and it will be around 28°C at the lowest. PMD has forecast 70 per cent chance of rainfall during the day. There are 14 km/ph winds and humidity recorded at 70 per cent.
Islamabad is also likely to get intermittent rains during the day, while the high temperature is likely to be 35°C.
The weather department has announced that the current period of rain will continue over the next two to three days in various parts of the country, including Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with thunderstorms and rain forecast.
The NDMA said that from July 1 to July 4, heavy rain could trigger flash floods in mountain streams and seasonal rivers across KP, Punjab, Balochistan, AJK, and GB.
It warned of possible urban flooding in low lying areas of Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Khushab, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Jhang, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Hafizabad, and Mandi Bahauddin.
In Balochistan, local flash floods are also possible in Zhob, Sherani, Musakhel, Barkhan, Sibi, Kohlu, Dera Bugti, and Loralai.
Before this, on Wednesday, heavy rain and strong winds hit Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Zhob and KP. According to the details, three people were killed. And 10 others were injured in three separate incidents of house collapses in Zhob. A tree fell on a car near the F-7 Islamabad Cheezious restaurant during the storm.
