The wall of a private school collapsed, in the Bagbanpura area of Lahore, leaving one child dead and five others injured after being buried under the debris.
According to Rescue sources, there were reports that children were present inside when the under-construction walls collapsed, after which relief operations were immediately started.
Rescue teams are engaged in safely pulling out children from the building, while a search and rescue operation is ongoing amid fears that more people may still be trapped under the rubble.
The school roof collapsed during a summer camp in Bagbanpura, resulting in the death of a 10-year-old child and injuries to four labourers, while all other children remained safe.
Doctors confirmed the death of 10-year-old Abubakar, while the injured labourers are receiving medical treatment.
The tragic incident occurred during extension work at the school, when the roof suddenly came crashing down. A summer camp was underway at the time, and a large number of children were present, but all other children were fortunately safe.
Two days earlier 14 children lost their lives when a weak roof of a tuition centre collapsed at Kahna Road , bringing down tons of debris on children. At the time of the incident, 35 children were present at the centre.
