Govt rejects reports of closure of tuition centres in Punjab

tuition centres punjab, tuition centres

The Punjab government has denied reports circulating on social media claiming that all tuition centres across the province are being shut down, describing the information as misleading.

Provincial authorities said that there has been no complete ban imposed on tuition academies or coaching centres.

Instead, the government is introducing regulatory measures to ensure that these institutions comply with relevant laws and safety standards.

Officials said tuition centres will be required to meet prescribed operational requirements, including registration and compliance with government regulations where applicable.

The clarification came after social media posts suggested that the provincial government had decided to close all tuition centres, leading to confusion among students, parents and academy owners.

The government urged the public to rely on official announcements for information about education policies and to avoid sharing unverified claims.

Officials said the aim of the new measures is to regulate the tuition sector, improve standards and ensure safe operations, rather than shut down coaching centres across Punjab.

Under the programme, 30,000 successful applicants have each been allotted five acres of cultivable government land on a 20-year free lease.
